Among the stand-out sailing personalities of the world we find, without a shadow of a doubt, Carlo Borlenghi, the most famous sailing photographer in the world, of whom we have the great pleasure of showing you some splendid shots.

Borlenghi was born near the lake of Como, in Bellano, in 1956 and began his profession by following the local regattas.
During his first few years of work, thanks to his collaboration with the magazine “Uomo Mare Vogue”, he traveled around the world shooting the most important nautical events. Over the course of his career he has immortalized some of the most significant moments in sailing, and since 1983 he has been photographing the America’s Cup regattas. During these he has worked as the official photographer of the “Azzurra” campaign, the first Italian boat to participate in the stars and stripes’ competition, “Italia”, “Moro di Venezia”, “Luna Rossa”, and for the Swiss team, Alinghi. He has shot many editions of Whitbread Round the World Race and, during the 2001-2002 season, he was the official photographer for the Volvo Ocean Race for the Amer Sports team. Furthermore, he is also the official photographer for Rolex for both national and international events. Starting in 1994 he has followed the athletic endeavors of the great Giovanni Soldini. Among the numerous awards Carlo Borlenghi has received over the years thanks to his brilliant work, we see, in 1983, the “Marian Skubin” prize for the best sports photographer published in Italy, among three consecutive victories for: the best nautical publishing prize in Italy, “Marina di Pescara”; the “Grand Prix Professional de la photo de Mer” in Paris in 1986; the “Omega Fotocronache” as best sports photographer in 2003, and many, many more, extremely prestigious awards.
